Materials Planning Manager

Provide leadership and expertise managing a team of Professionals in the newly centralised Mid Term Planning structure within Supply Chain.  The key activities of the team will be to manage the end-to-end material supply planning.

What to expect:

  • Lead a diverse team of central material supply professionals spread across Europe predominantly in GB running weekly MRP’s and monthly material & ingredients forecasting.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to enable mutual trust and the prioritization of our products.
  • Accountable for outstanding levels of stock availability to all the concerned sites using these materials and ingredients, all aligned to the change agenda of the business.
  • Accountable to minimize raw material write off costs driven by the material change agenda.
  • Ensure material & ingredients forecasts reflect the latest material/vendor combinations eg. Material phase in/phase out timings in site/central owned BOMs. Keep track of volume allocation agreements & agreed stock profiles.
  • Deliver the annual budget/seasonal updates for the commodities managed.
  • Deliver seasonal profiles & review output with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with BU Short Term Planning teams, Sites , Mid Term Planning, Strategy Planning, Procurement and other key stakeholders within the business ensure high level of product availability across material & ingredients commodities to meet customer requirements and deliver best in industry service results.
  • Monitor and feedback the performance of the suppliers.
  • Pro-actively provide visibility to the business on risks and opportunities and build contingency plans in collaboration with procurement and the sites.
  • Support sites & financial teams to keep under control materials and ingredient stock levels.
  • Support procurement with the contract negotiation with suppliers and the SRM process.
  • Network scope: a wide range of materials & ingredients across multiple markets using common suppliers to deliver approximately 600 Million unit cases finished goods on annual basis.

Skills & Essentials:

  • 3 years + experience leading a team
  • 3 years + experience in material supply with a strong affinity of the end-to-end supply chain including Sales & Operations Planning processes.
  • Strong people management skills, including coaching and developing direct reports.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and sustain a range of working relationships across multiple functions and sites.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, complex and fast moving environment.
  • Systems knowledge: SAP APO (eg. PPDS, DP, SNP), Excel (advanced level), PowerPoint, Share-point
  • Degree level, experience considered on case-by-case basis


  • Fluent English required
  • Proficiency in other European languages advantageous
